The article focuses on the Rassemblement Démocratique Africain (RDA) and the struggle over communism in relation to the Cold War in Guinea. RDA is an interritorial alliance of political parties with affiliations in French West and Equatorial Africa whose parliamentarians severed their ties with the Parti Communiste Franēais (PCF). Guinea's vote for independence culminated struggle for control of the political agenda of grassroots activists.
